Invisalign has caused a lisp, but my work involves speaking on the phone. What can I do?

Q. It has been one week since fitting the Invisalign, I was advised that the lisp should dissappear within a few days, my job involves a lot of phone call, I find it an effort to talk to customers. I have top and bottom braces, the treatment is more for my front teeth that stick out, lower jaw is fine but was advised that I need both. The only way I can overcome the lisp/speech is to wear the top whilst at work and wear both from evening and at night. Can this work without slowing the process of the treatment. I have become more self conscious wearing both braces.,
A. Unfortunately if you don\’t wear your aligners full time as instructed by your dentist treatment can be delayed. I treat a lot of patients whose jobs involve dealing with the public and usually within few days their speech improves. Just try and persevere and ensure you are giving it a go for long enough so that your tongue and lips can get used to them
