Q. My dentist has told me that I can do invisalign but that I will need to get some IPR done. I am not sure about this procedure as it seems wrong to shave away the teeth. Is it completely safe to do? I have heard that tooth sensitivity can sometimes result from this?
A. Hello,
IPR is the way to create minimal space for aligning the teeth. In most cases the other option would be extraction. If there is any , the sensitivity is usually temporary. We try to be as conservative as possible with IPR.
