I’ve Been Wearing Invisalign Aligners For Two Years But My Treatment Has Been Unsuccessful. Why Is This?

Q.
Hi. I am angry because when I initially began Invisalign treatment, I was told it would take 6 months and 2 and a half years later I’ve had 4 sets of refinements, my teeth still have gaps in between them, and my bottom teeth still cross over each other. As I’m sure you can appreciate, I’ve spend a lot of money. But now my dentist wants to try veneers and to be honest I’ve spent enough money, I expect my natural teeth to be straight now. Can you offer me any advice? Thanks.
A.
Hi there, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, it’s sometimes the case that teeth don’t respond to the ideal treatment for certain problems. I would first advise that you speak to your dentist because he or she has seen you through the entire treatment process so far. If they feel as though the problem can’t be solved with Invisalign, before you start looking at other cosmetic treatments you should ask to be referred to a consultant orthodontist or recommended Invisalign provider. I hope this is useful.
