Would Invisalign be able to limit the time I would need to wear metal braces?

August 20th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Kumar, I was told years ago that I had a protruding lower jaw and was advised that to correct my bite and other problems which may develop I would need braces on my top teeth to straighten them and \’put them in their correct position\’, followed by surgery on my lower jaw. As I already feel very concious of my smile without metal braces, I have been looking into alternative ways to straighten my teeth and invisalign really appeals to me. I know that to have the surgery, I will need metal braces at some point, however if I can use invisalign to straighten my top teeth enough to be able to drastically reduce the time I have to wear the metal braces before surgery I will be very pleased. Essentially, what I am asking is: is this possible? Would I be able to use invisalign to straighten my top teeth while I have a protruding lower jaw? Also, are there finance options which allow me to make monthly payments? If so, what are the company which provides the services (so that I can do some research) and would I be able to pay the monthly payments for a while, then at some point just pay the rest off in one go? (I am saving for a holiday, so just to be on the safe side would like to pay a small amount a month for the invisalign then pay the whole thing off when I get back). Thanks for your time!,

Hello Dr. I have used invisalgn now for around 4 months and i\’m not seeing any difference in tooth movement. Just wondering what the alternatives to invisalign would be if they don\’t work for me? Thanks.,

Is it possible to have Invisalign treatment as I have crowns?

August 5th, 2010
Q.
I have two crowns, both in my front teeth and was just wondering if I could still have invisalign? I wasn\’t allowed fixed braces because my dentist said it would ruin my crowns when they had to be removed. Thank you,

Invisalign does not seem to be making a difference. Are fixed braces the route to go?

August 4th, 2010
Q.
my dentist has showed my an x-ray of my teeth, the clincheck and said my teeth aren\’t moving like he expected. I\’ve been wearing the invisalign now for around 4 months and i can say i haven\’t noticed any difference in my teeth and he said that there\’s nothing he can do but wait and see if the aligners move my teeth. If they don\’t move then what am i supposed to do? Please advise me! He said i may have to wear fixed braces.,

Do I have to pay for mid-treatment fixed braces?

July 27th, 2010
Q.
My dentist said that there could be a possibility that I\’d have to switch to traditional braces mid-treatment if the invisalign isn\’t going to plan. he never spoke about costs or anything so would this be included with the invisalign? because I might have to stop it, even though I\’ve already paid for it, I don\’t know how the payments work.,

Am I likely to need other braces when I’ve finished the invisalign treatment?

July 15th, 2010
Q.
I was told that there could be a chance I\’d need fixed braces at the end of my treatment because of two stubborn teeth (next to my very front teeth) the whole point of me getting invisalign was so my teeth could be fixed completely and my orthodontist said it was likely that it would fix my teeth but then sends me a letter after i\’ve already paid saying I may need fixed braces! Is this right?? Is he just trying to get more money out of me?,
