What is the maximum level of tooth filing the dentist should perform? My dentist seems to be taking more and more.

Q. So what would you say is a safe level of tooth filing? I am concerned because my dentist just seems to keep taking more and more off so what is a minimum?,

A. Literature reports that 0.5mm per side of tooth is a safe amount to file for orthodontics. It is very unlikely that your dentist would file any more than that as he/she would be following Invisalign\’s instructions for the filing of the teeth and they never exceed the safe amount.
