Wold smoking affect my Invisalign Braces?

Q. I want to get invisalign to straigthen my teeth, however I am a heavy smoker. I have tried giving up in the past but never been succesful. Would I be able to smoke with the aligners in? if so would this cause any problems? thanks,

A. I would not recommend smoking with your aligners in as they can get damaged and if they get damaged you will end up having to paying for replacing them. Please also note that smoking not only affects your general health but also your mouth, teeth and gums.
