Wold smoking affect my Invisalign Braces?

I want to get invisalign to straigthen my teeth, however I am a heavy smoker. I have tried giving up in the past but never been succesful. Would I be able to smoke with the aligners in? if so would this cause any problems? thanks,

I gave up smoking not long ago, but have replaced it with chewing gum. Can I do this when wearing aligners?

What is your view on chewing gum with the aligners. I am about to start treatment only I gave up smoking three months ago and this has been replaced with gum. Is there any hope for me!,
