Invisalign treatment has left my front tooth wobbly

May 12th, 2011
Q.

I wore invisalign for about 1 1/2 years. Prior to the treatment, I had no problems with my teeth at all. I began the treatment at the age of 49. Throughout the treatment I had noticed my teeth pretty loose.and one tooth continually loose. My dentist said that was normal, and not to address it until the treatment is completed. I now have a loose tooth right in front, and need to have it extracted, If I choose to have an implant, That will cost about 4,000 dollars, none of it covered by insurance. I was never told that moving the teeth could compromise the integrity of my teeth. I was told that I was a perfect candidate for invisalign. My question is.. Why don’t dentists tell you the possibilities of what could happen to your teeth? It’s very nice to have straighter teeth, but not at the expense of loosing one! How likely is it that the root of my tooth was going to deteriorate anyway? Again, I had no problems before, not even a cavity.

I have had Invisalign for two years and still no results. What can be done?

May 11th, 2011
Q.

I have been receiving Invisalign treatment – I am un happy with the results and the dentist carrying out the process. Was initially told it would take 6 months to a year and it is now nearly 2 years. Have had 3 sets of refinements, teeth still move during the day with gaps appearing and still have crossed lower teeth. Dentist now suggests veneers? – I would rather have straight natural teeth which is what I have paid the £3500 for. Can’t find anywhere to complain. Not sure what to do next. Please can you offer some advice.

Debating the cost and commitment of Invisalign

May 10th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I am debating whether or not to go for the invisalign treatment as it is a lot of commitment both in terms of money and dedication to the procedure. Do most people manage to stick to the required timeframes per day? Also, if the results are not as expected towards the end, what are the options and how much (if at all) would they cost?

Thanks,

I’ve just had my braces removed and my teeth look bigger.

May 10th, 2011
Q.

I had my braces removed after 18 months (upper ceramic and lower metal) 3 months ago. My teeth are bigger as a result, especially the two front teeth. I’ve been told that this is as a result of the bone reforming/changing shape and not because they have been pulled from the gums. I’m disappointed with the result. Will the teeth eventually shorten after a period of time? The top 2 rows are also slightly pushed outwards and i smile less than i used to.

I have recieved conflicting advice about Inman aligners, what would you recommend?

May 5th, 2011
Q.

Im a 36 year old mother of 1 and decided to goto a clinic where i live in the isle of man to enquire about the 6mth smile which i was led to believe is nothing to do with the inman aligners but a different type of brace. I explained how 1 of my front teeth is overlapping the other slightly and my upper right 3 has risen alot in comparison to the upper left 3. The dentist took a quick look at my teeth and said the inman brace is what hed use.My concerns are that ive just read the inman cant pull teeth down so im slightly baffled to say the least.Should it be easy enough for me to find out if this man is a true inman aligner provider as something just didnt ring true today at my appt. Many thanks

My gums have started bleeding since I have started wearing Invisalign.

May 5th, 2011
Q.

hello,

i have recently started invisalign treatment and am about one month in.
I have always had healthy if not crooked teeth but all of a sudden my gums have started bleeding. Ive always maintained good oral health and keep excellent care of my teeth do you think the pressure of invisalign is to blame?
Is there anything I can do, will I have to stop the treatment?

thanks for your time

My Invisalign aligners keep falling off.

May 5th, 2011
Q.

Hi,

I have worn my invisalign braces for around 4 months now. The total treatment time will be around 8.5 months initially.

I had a total of 6 attachments put on, and after a week or so, 1 of them came off. My dentist told me that the attachment would not be replaced as it may come off again.

Recently 2 more of the attachments came off, however they did not just fall off, I think I was a bit too forceful when putting the aligners back into my mouth once, and I accidentally knocked 2 of the attachments off.

I have an appointment on friday to see my dentist. Should he be replacing these 2 that fell off recently?

I am just concerned that with them off, my teeth will not be moving as well as they could with the attachments, and that when the 8.5 months is complete, it will mean that I then have to wear the refinement braces for longer than if the attachments are on during the initial 8.5 months.

Would Invisalign be able to treat an overbite?

May 4th, 2011
Q.

Hello,

i have a very large overbite and wondered if invisalign is strong enough to treat this? In my general research it always seems to be metal or braces with blocks that are recommended for treating overbites but at the same time they are horrendously ugly and uncomfortable to wear.
My overbite is about an inch over do you think invisalign could treat this and would i need any teeth taking out?

many thanks

What kind of time period is expected from Invisalign treatments?

May 4th, 2011
Q.

hi,

i was wondering what is the usual time period from start to finish for the invisalign treatment? I have two twisted teeth and a bit of an overbite would that be a usual invisalign case or would it take extra time and work?
And what is the general cost of Invisalign and is it available in a payment plan?

thanks
