Q. Teeth whiteninig – can I get this done half way through my invislaign treatment? My teeth were discoloured to begin with but are getting even worse because of the invisalign I think, even though I do clean my teeth to a good ratio. I was going to get my teeth whitened at the end of treatment anyway so maybe it is not such a bad thing. I have attachments if that will make any difference to how the teeth whitening will work?
A. It is possible to do whitening while having invisalign treatment, but I tend to do it at the end of treatment for better results. The whitening carried out at the end of treatment involves using special, custom-made whitening trays which allow to achieve better result. Each dentist is different and each dentist uses a different make of whitening gels, so I would ask your Invisalign dentist.
