I Had Braces But My Wisdom Teeth Have Caused Them To Relapse. How Much Would It Cost To Fix The Top Set?

April 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hi Adam,

I was having a look through your website and was hoping you could make a recommendation for me. I had braces as a teenager, which left me with perfectly straight teeth. But due to my wisdom teeth coming through, this has pushed my molars forward and caused my front 4 teeth to squint. Is there a particular version of your product that could work best to straighten my teeth and also would you have an idea on cost? It would only be my upper set. Many thanks, I hope you can help me with this and I look forward to your reply.

What Are The Invisalign Trays Made From? Can They Cause Any Harm To Me While I’m Pregnant?

March 17th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Raj. I hope you can help me. I have a question regarding the plastic Invisalign trays and what they are made out of. I am about 3 months pregnant and I just needed to know if there were any toxins in the plastic that can harm the baby? There’s not much I can find on the internet about the materials they use and whether they could be harmful. Any information you could provide me with would be really great. Thank you in advance for any consideration.

Are Braces Dependant On What Age You Are? I’m 65, But I’m Not Sure Whether I Can Get Braces?

March 10th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Kumar. I’m 65 years old and recently lost my wife. I have always hated how misaligned my teeth were but they’re in such good condition (minus them being out of line) I’m a proud owner of a full set of teeth! I would love braces now and can see how much they’ve changed since I was a little lad. I feel I may be too old for braces now? What do you think? I don’t want to spend months in braces only to have my teeth fall out. Any advice you can provide me with on this matter would be fab. Thank you in advance!

Can I Wear My Aligners When I Go To The Sauna Or Is There A Chance They’ll Melt?

February 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, I hope you can help me, I have a query for you. I was just wondering recently if it is okay to wear my aligners in the sauna three times a week for about 20mins to half an hour? Or will they melt? I would hate for anything to happen. Also is there any other activity that could harm or prevent my treatment from taking place successfully. It worries me that something could happen and I would have to pay for treatment all over again. I would be great to hear back from you regarding this enquiry. Many thanks!

Is Invisalign The Right Treatment For Me?

February 10th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, I hope you can help me with my enquiry, I recently visited a orthodontist who recommended to me Invisalign, my top teeth stick out a lot with lots of gaps, plus my jaw is further back. Is Invisalign the right treatment for me? I’m unaware of the other types of braces there are and would like to know what each can do for me. Thank you in advance, I look forward to hearing you advice and information on this matter.

Are Missing Back Molars A Problem When Considering Invisalign?

February 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Kumar. I just wondered if you could tell me whether having missing back molar impacts on the success rates of Invisalign? I’m not even sure if I’m suitable yet, and I’m due for a consultation at the dental suite next week but I really want Invisalign. I don’t think I will be happy with anything else that they have to offer me. Are missing teeth a huge problem with this treatment? I’m hoping the aligners will actually close the gap caused by my missing teeth. Many thanks. It would be great to hear from you so I can move on with this matter.

Would There Be Any Problems With Changing My Invisalign Dentist?

January 20th, 2014
Q.

Hi Raj, I have a question for you that I would really like confirmation on. I have already been assessed for Invisalign and my dentist has a treatment plan. I have paid for the initial assessment etc. I would like to know whether I can now take this plan to another dentist for treatment or would I have to go through the whole procedure again? Would this incur any further costs or would the price stay the same? Thank you in advance for your advice and I forward to your reply.

Hi Dr Kumar, My Invisalign Is Hurting Me Six Weeks Into Treatment, Is This Normal?

January 6th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Kumar. I was wondering whether you could help me or offer some advice. I don’t think Invisalign is working for me. I’ve kept the aligners in as advised by my orthodontist but they’re hurting so much. I haven’t taken them out apart from when I’m cleaning my teeth because the orthodontist advised me not to. But they’re honestly really hurting, I didn’t think the pain would be this bad. I’m only 6 weeks into it, my orthodontic said to expect discomfort but I find myself constantly taking pain killers, is this normal? Thank you for your time.
