Q. My normal dentist has told me that I am going to need to get a filling but I am half way through my Invisalign treatment. I am concerned that this may have an impact on my treatment and make the aligner not fit properly but can you tell me if this is the case?,
A. It should be okay to have the fillings done so long as the original outline of the tooth is maintained

Q. I am wearing invisalign aligners, but am concerned as I think I am going to need a filling on my next visit to the dentist. Will this have an effect upon the movement caused by the aligner when the filling is put in?
A.
Hello,
First of all, inform your Invisalign provider. Unfortunately, having some new fillings done during your Invisalign treatment can result in the aligner not fitting on your teeth anymore. If that particular tooth was planned to be moved and/or the filling changes the surface of the tooth a lot then new Invisalign treatment needs to be submitted.
