Would a cavity affect my invisalign treatment?

Q. What would happen if I was to get a cavity during invisalign treatment? Would it affect the movement of the teeth caused by the aligners, or would it not have any affect?

A. If you get a cavity during the Invisalign treatment it would be best to clean out the decay and restore the cavity with a filling as soon as possible. It is practically impossible to duplicate the exact surface of the tooth, this means there is a chance (depending on the size of the cavity) that the filling may interfere with the Invisalign aligner sitting in place.

If this does happen, you made have to pay a fee to remake the aligners.
