Will my teeth grinding affect my Invisalign aligners?

June 21st, 2011
Q.

Hi there Doctor,

could you tell me the protocol when it comes to a teeth grinder looking to wear invisalign. I sadly do not only grind my teeth in my sleep but also in my waking hours, when concentrating or even daydreaming, it has become an awful annoyance to myself and those around me and not only that my teeth are in an awful condition alignment wise. My top teeth are crowded and crooked and I really want to sort them out, and would prefer if it was done discreetly. WIll I be ok wearing invisalign in light of my grinding problem?
Thank you for your time

I have a dental implant, will I be suitable for Invisalign

June 15th, 2011
Q.

hello doctors,

do you think i would be suitable for invisalign, i recently suffered and accident and now have an implant with a post, but the rest of my teeth really need straightening but i am afraid that i will cause damage to the implant. The rest of my teeth are pretty spaced out, with little gaps everywhere, so i want things tightening up.
in your opinion even though I have an implant would I be a viable candidate for invisalign? thank you for your time

Are Invisalign as good as traditional fixed braces?

June 13th, 2011
Q.

Hello,

could you tell me how long invisalign has been around and the rate of success and time frame compared to other more traditional brace systems? I am looking to get braces as i have very crooked teeth and am torn between the attractiveness of invisible braces and the established nature of metal braces. I don’t really want to have braces and find the work less than satisfactory but it would be nice to have unnoticeable braces at the same time. From your experience are they as good as metal braces and how long have you been using invisalign?

My gums have become swollen, could my new retainer be the problem?

June 10th, 2011
Q.

Hello

i have recently started a course of invisalign and although I knew there would be discomfort, am now suffering from severely swollen gums, which only started happening around the same time as I got my Invisalign. I have been wearing them for 3 weeks and it has subsided, do you think I could be allergic to the material?
If this is the case what would be my options doctor?

thank you for your time

Do I have to have aligners on both sets of teeth, as only the top teeth are the problem.

June 8th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctors

I have very crooked, twisted teeth on my top teeth and was wondering to correct them will i have to have invisalign on both top and bottom?
My bottom teeth are in good condition and it seems that it would incur extra costs if i were to get them top and bottom.
Do you think I could do without braces on my bottom teeth?

Thank you for your time doctors

I have a wedding in four months. Can Invisalign be of assistance?

June 6th, 2011
Q.

hello doctor, i have a problem to put before you.   i have a wedding in 4 months and was wondering what is the minimum and maximum time frame for a completed invisalign treatment? My teeth aren’t as bad as some peoples and it is mainly that my front two teeth are crossed over what would be the usual time to treat a problem such as this? I know that you would have to see me first before you could definitely tell but what is your general experience of a case like this?
thank you very much for your time

I injured my tooth just before I was to begin Invisalign. Could I still go ahead with it?

June 6th, 2011
Q.

hello there doctor,

i wonder if you can tell me if I am ok to begin invisalign treatment. I was planning to go ahead with it when a few weeks ago I had a fall and impacted one of my front teeth. I had this thoroughly checked out by my dentist, who x-rayed the area to make sure there was no deep damage. He found this to be negative and said my tooth was fine and apart from the odd twinge here and there the tooth feels fine and I have been eating upon it. Do you think I could go ahead with Invisalign in this point in time? I am quite eager to get started towards a better smile but obviously do not want to compromise my overall oral health. What is your opinion doctor? I have booked an appointment with my other doctor just to make sure but the more advice the better in my opinion. Thank you very much for your time.

I would like braces that don’t show to fix my overbite. Would Invisalign work?

June 2nd, 2011
Q.

Good Morning to you Dr Vasileia- I was wondering with the invisalign treatment if with a overbite and a two adult teeth missing if i can use this treatment still. I unfortunatly had appointments with my local dentist but who is now saying he cannot do braces at the back of my teeth becasue of my overbite- which has upset me because i would like something that doesnt show but also sorts my teeth out. Would you please be able to tell me your opinion on this matter?  Thank you

What is the average number of Invisalign trays each patient wears?

June 1st, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Patel. If you can can you please inform me of the number of trays that usually need to be worn by an Invisalign patients? I have a row of crooked, twisted teeth and two buck front teeth so i would class my current condition as quite severe. So from that basis can you tell me how many trays you think would be required?  I ask because when I am looking around I see a number of different prices for the treatment ranging from 2500 to 3500 and, whether I am correct or not in thinking so, I suspect that the number of trays available may differ according to the price.
any help you could give would be great
thanks
