Q. When I was in my teens I wore a fixed appliance to fix my crooked teeth. At the time I also had to have four teeth removed to make room. Now I am in my late twenties and my teeth have become crooked again though not as bad. Do you know if Invisalign can help me? Will the same problem not just happen again after years?
A. Invisalign is a great form of treatment to straighten teeth. You can also consider 6 month braces or the Inman aligner as alternative options. I would recommend you see a dentist that offers all those alternative treatments so that you can find the one that is more suitable for you.
With regards to relapse following orthodontic treatment, you need to be aware that you have to wear retainers long-term to reduce the risk of relapse. I always tell my patients that retention is for life.
Best of luck
