Would veneers or braces be best for a gap in my teeth?

September 6th, 2012
Q.

Hi,
I am in a bit of a dilemma at the moment as I have a gap between two of my teeth on the top which is very noticeable. My normal dentist told me to go to a private clinic so that they can tell me the best options.I live in a small village in Wales though so I don’t really know of anywhere so thought I would do some internet research.
I would class my problem as minor but I am not sure whether to go for veneers to cover the gaps as it’s quick or to go through the process of braces which could take time. What is your advice on this? Thanks.

Can I have Invisalign if I have gum disease?

September 3rd, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I would like to try Invisalign braces but at the moment I have slight gum disease and they bleed now and then.I have been to the hygienist and got some treatment and now I work hard to keep my teeth as clean as possible.
Obviously I will wait until the gum disease has gone but I am worried that the shield things will rub on my gums and hurt? Are they quite hard or soft? I wondered if I could maybe have a feel of one before I decide, do you think a dentist would let me do that? I have seen and worn a mouth guard before and they can be really tough and painful after a while, but I am guessing that they are the very cheap ones and not like Invisalign at all.Thank you for your help.

How can I correct the minor protrusion I have?

August 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hi, I am 30 years old. I had fell down when I was a kid and the impact broke my front 2 teeth (top) slightly. This also resulted in my teeth structure getting slightly protruded. Its not too protruded though. 4-5 years back I got the broken teeth corrected. This was done by shaping the 2 broken teeth and using a ceramic cap placed on top of the shaped teeth. My top 2 wisdom tooth has also been removed last year. All my teeth are perfectly shaped and aligned. I would now like to correct the minor top protrusion. Please suggest a suitable mode of treatment for the same. I do not want to undergo a painful procedure. Can Invisalign be used to correct this minor protrusion.

Can you help me decide between Invisalign and fixed braces?

August 15th, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I would very much like to have Invisalign braces mainly because they look so discreet and they are removable but I am worried that perhaps I should get fixed braces. If I lost the aligners how much generally do you have to pay?I don’t think it would be possible to lose them but I have skills at losing pretty much anything and everything. Also, once you start having the treatment is there a cooling off period in case I don’t like them? I am worried that when they start moving my teeth it will hurt and I would probably be tempted to take them out which worries me.

Would Invisalign be suitable for me as I grind my teeth?

August 1st, 2012
Q.

Hi there.
I would very much like to have Invisalign treatment on a few slightly off teeth that are not quite in line or straight enough. The problem I have is that I grind my teeth quite a lot at night. A couple of my teeth are quite worn down at the back but these are not the teeth I wish to treat. I am worried that my tooth grinding will harm the aligners and I will have to keep paying for more to be made?
If this is the case, what would you suggest as an alternative to Invisalign as I would like something very discreet if possible. Thank you for your help, I look forward to your reply.

Is Invisalign treatment possible in the Army?

July 30th, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I am joining the army in September and am due to have a consultation in three weeks about starting Invisalign treatment for three crooked teeth.
To be honest I didn’t know very much about Invisalign until i read up on it on here. I am now starting to think I shouldn’t have Invisalign or any other treatment as I am not sure where I will be with the army. Do you have any suggestions? My crooked teeth actually cause me pain when i eat so I would like to fix them for this rather than so my teeth look perfect. Thanks for your help.

Will my wisdom tooth affect my Invisalign treatment?

July 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I had a consultation with a private dentist about 7 months ago about getting Invisalign. I am 17 years old and although I was offered metal braces on the NHS I have managed to save enough money to get Invisalign instead.
Everything was fine during the consultation and I am due back in a few weeks to start the process and have impressions made but my wisdom tooth has started to come through in a strange way, well not straight and is quite sore. I could go to the emergency dentist to have it taken out ASAP or do you think I should talk to the dentist doing my Invisalign and delay it a bit? I don’t want the wisdom tooth to affect my Invisalign treatment.

Should I wear aligners during the night?

July 12th, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I really would like to have aligners if i could choose any of the braces treatment available but I have done some research on the net and found a few worrying stories about wearing the aligners during the night.
Some sites say that they should not be worn during the night as they are bad for oral health and can aid bacteria. Whilst I generally don’t believe this to be true and as long as the teeth and aligners are clean then I don’t see a problem. I would just like to clarify before I have a consultation whether this is true or not?
Also what is the longest time a person had had to wear the aligners generally? More than two years?

Would Invisalign Teen be suitable for my son?

July 4th, 2012
Q.

Hello

could you tell me about invisalign for teenagers? I know there is a different version of invisalign for those who are younger, but I just waned to know the actual differences. My 13 year old has crowded teeth at the front of his mouth and he is feeling very self conscious, so I really wanted to find something that would remain unnoticeable throughout treatment. Is invisalign teen still as unnoticeable as normal invisalign? and can you treat crowding with it? thank you

Could you give me a rough treatment price for Invisalign?

July 4th, 2012
Q.

Hi, just wondered whether you could give me a rough guideline price? I know it is different for everybody’s individual teeth, it’s only the top I need doing, and they really aren’t that wonky at all! The two teeth next to my two front teeth are slightly uneven, so beating that in mind, could you tell me roughly how much I am looking at, before I book a consultation please!! Thankyou
