Q.

Hello Dr Adam Thorne, I was per chance wondering if you could please advise me on my situation, in that i had a brace when i was thirteen and tehn wore a retainer for two years and now my teeth are perfectly straight. recently i quit smoking and started using a teeth whitening toothpaste two times each daily , now i have big marks on my teeth which looks like the marks were my braces where i had them. i am scared of it and i cant smile it makes me cringe plz help.

I’ve just had my braces removed and my teeth look bigger.

May 10th, 2011
Q.

I had my braces removed after 18 months (upper ceramic and lower metal) 3 months ago. My teeth are bigger as a result, especially the two front teeth. I’ve been told that this is as a result of the bone reforming/changing shape and not because they have been pulled from the gums. I’m disappointed with the result. Will the teeth eventually shorten after a period of time? The top 2 rows are also slightly pushed outwards and i smile less than i used to.

I have extremely sensitive teeth but really need a brace, would I be suitable for the Invisalign treatment?

April 27th, 2011
Q.

hi,

i have extremely sensitive teeth, with most specialised toothpaste having no effect at all. However, i do need orthodontic treatment on my top teeth and would prefer to have invisalign treatment as it seems the gentlest of all brace treatment. Would you say this is true and do you have any advice on helping sensitive teeth?

thanks

Would Invisalign be a good alternative to braces to boost my confidence?

February 24th, 2011
Q.
I hate my teeth and I always have, my confidence is really low generally and my teeth make things worse. I don’t want to get braces either because I think this would make things worse. Would Invialign be suitable and how much would it cost?,

I am unsure of the aesthetics of fixed braces, can you recommend an alternative?

January 24th, 2011
Q.
Hi Dr Viola, I think i have overcrowded tooth with one tooth (front) that has slight grown upwards and makes me look like a dracula. I have been to a dental surgery in london before but he said invisalign wouldn’t be the best option, fixed braces will be better. I sent some photos recently to two other dental surgery and one said fixed braces and another said inman aligner. I don’t mind spending good money to get excellent results but i’m totally confused what to go for. I definitely do not want to go for fixed braces as i am 27 and i have to do a lot of presentations- with fixed braces i’ll look horrible ! I also heard of sectional braces, would that work for me ? Oh pls help… Thank you,

I had braces in the past but my teeth have relapsed slightly. Can Invisalign be of assistance?

January 5th, 2011
Q.
Now five years gone I had braces but went on to lose my retainer. My front top teeth have now moved back slightly and I am concerned that theya re just going to keep going to where they were originally which was pretty bad. Can Invisalign work with this? I ‘m sure I have read it is good in such cases?,
