My dentist has suggested doing orthodontic treatment because I have short tooth roots. Is this ideal?

December 7th, 2010
Q.
I am scheduled to start invisalign treatment next month. I have been told I have very short tooth roots and as a consequence my orthodontist has suggested doing all of the orthodontic treatment as quickly as possible (less than six months) to prevent more resorption. I am unsure however as surely moving teeth quickly would be worse. (I am assuming that greater force would be applied to my teeth to accomplish the same amount of work in less time.) Is my orthodontist correct, or will this cause more resorption than doing it over a longer period of time?,

I know teeth are supposed to be loose during treatment, but one of mine is VERY loose. Should I be worried?

November 17th, 2010
Q.
I know this is supposed to happen but i feel like i need reassurance from someon in the know namely you. I began my treatment not long ago and obvisouly ahve some relatively loose teeth but then there is one tooth that is in a much looser condition than the others. It wiggles when I push against it and i am getting a tad worried. I\’m not going to overreact as i dont think its about to fall out but i am still abit concerned. i cant help it. can you tell me if i should just get on with it.,

My crown has become very loose since wearing the aligners, what should I do?

July 29th, 2010
Q.
hello i have just recently received invisalign and it\’s great, it\’s not the problem. However i\’ve had a porcelain crown fixed for around 5 years now and since wearing the aligners it\’s becoming very loose and i fear that it will fall out. Is there some way i can get the aligners loosened around that tooth? the orthodontist did say the crown could not be moved but it does feel very loose.,
