Is Invisalign The Right Treatment For Me?

February 10th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, I hope you can help me with my enquiry, I recently visited a orthodontist who recommended to me Invisalign, my top teeth stick out a lot with lots of gaps, plus my jaw is further back. Is Invisalign the right treatment for me? I’m unaware of the other types of braces there are and would like to know what each can do for me. Thank you in advance, I look forward to hearing you advice and information on this matter.

Are Missing Back Molars A Problem When Considering Invisalign?

February 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Kumar. I just wondered if you could tell me whether having missing back molar impacts on the success rates of Invisalign? I’m not even sure if I’m suitable yet, and I’m due for a consultation at the dental suite next week but I really want Invisalign. I don’t think I will be happy with anything else that they have to offer me. Are missing teeth a huge problem with this treatment? I’m hoping the aligners will actually close the gap caused by my missing teeth. Many thanks. It would be great to hear from you so I can move on with this matter.

I Would Like To Know What Type Materials Are Used To Go Into Making Invisalign?

January 27th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, I would love to hear from you and I hope you can help me, I would really like to know what the component which goes into making Invisalign is made up of? I’m currently researching the different types of lingual brace and this would go some way to helping me understand which system would be best to go forward with. I would like to thank you for any information you can provide me with in advance and I look forward to your reply.

Would There Be Any Problems With Changing My Invisalign Dentist?

January 20th, 2014
Q.

Hi Raj, I have a question for you that I would really like confirmation on. I have already been assessed for Invisalign and my dentist has a treatment plan. I have paid for the initial assessment etc. I would like to know whether I can now take this plan to another dentist for treatment or would I have to go through the whole procedure again? Would this incur any further costs or would the price stay the same? Thank you in advance for your advice and I forward to your reply.

Hi Dr Kumar, My Invisalign Is Hurting Me Six Weeks Into Treatment, Is This Normal?

January 6th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Kumar. I was wondering whether you could help me or offer some advice. I don’t think Invisalign is working for me. I’ve kept the aligners in as advised by my orthodontist but they’re hurting so much. I haven’t taken them out apart from when I’m cleaning my teeth because the orthodontist advised me not to. But they’re honestly really hurting, I didn’t think the pain would be this bad. I’m only 6 weeks into it, my orthodontic said to expect discomfort but I find myself constantly taking pain killers, is this normal? Thank you for your time.

Are Invisalign Braces Likely To Cause Mouth Ulcers And Dental Caries?

December 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Kumar. I am considering Invisalign and would like to know if the braces ever give rise to oral problems such as for example, mouth ulcers due to any possible friction, dental caries in spite of an immaculate tooth cleaning regime and or any other localised superficial, but unwanted oral problems? Any information would be very helpful, thank you.

Is There Any Way Of Receiving Invisalign Treatment In Another Country?

December 16th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, could you tell me if there is a way one can be treated without visiting another country, since there are many challenges? Is there any way you can quote the price for Invisalign and if possible, the transactions be made though the post office either in cash or instalments? Also is there any way the braces be sent to me and fitted by a dentist close to me? I hope you can help me as I would really like to have my teeth straightened. I look forward to your reply and I hope you can help me. Many thanks.

How Can I Get My Original Impressions As I Want My Teeth To Go Back To How They Were.

December 9th, 2013
Q.

Hi. I would like to get in contact with invisalign to find out if they have my original impressions, it’s been about 4 years since I started my treatment. I would like my top teeth returned to their original form as now they are off centre. I never needed my top teeth touched but was talked into it. I have used top aligners to get my teeth back as far as the 1st alinger but I need an aligner of my actual original impression just to get them back exactly as they were.
I asked my orthodontist to do this for me but she has been of no help to me. I thought given time they might move back themselves but they don’t seem to be.
Thanks.

Removing My Vivera Braces Really Hurts After My Retainer Was Re-Cemented.

December 2nd, 2013
Q.

Dear Dr Kumar

I finished my Invisalign treatment in June 2013. I have a small metal retainer behind my top 6 teeth and the Vivera night time braces. The metal retainer came slightly loose at one end and this was re-cemented the same day I realised it was loose.

Since then I have had pain in all my front teeth, especially the one which is next to main one, which I wanted straightened. It has been over a week since the repair. Removing my Vivera braces really hurts and my teeth hurt all day.

Is this normal? Should I be worried?

I would appreciate your comments and help.

November 25th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Thorne, I really need your help and advice. I have lost my final Invisalign retainer, what can I do? I’m worried about what my orthodontist will think and say. Will I have to pay extra for spares? What happens If I leave it, will my teeth start to go back to their old position? Thank you, I really hope you can offer some advice and help me with this!
