When I had a consultation for 6 month smiles the dentist said the treatment wasn’t ideal. Could you advise?

November 24th, 2010
Q.
hi, I am trying to decide between invisalign and 6 month smile. I already had a consultation for invisalign and the dentist said i may only be 50% happy as it could sort out my wonky teeth at bottom but not maybe my overjet of two topfront teeth due to crowding. he said ideally fixed braces would be a better solution(as in 12-18 month ones) Another dentist offers 6 month smile. Could this be any more effective with overjet? both are offered as part of groupon deals so costs would work out same about 1400 pounds. Thankyou!,

I am very unhappy with the unsuccessful results Invisalign has given me. What can I do now?

November 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I\’ve had complete unsuccessful results from the invisalign. My teeth weren\’t moved much and now they\’ve relapsed also my tongue was constantly bleeding because my orthodontist didn\’t file the plastic down and when my trays broke I\’d have to wait weeks for them to be replaced. I am completely unhappy with the results and the experience was awful I never want to see a dentist again. What can I do now? Is there someone I can complain to?,

I have been unable to get my second tray in as it just won’t fit! What can I do?

November 16th, 2010
Q.
I have just started Invisalign treatment with 17 upper and 27 lower trays ahead of me. Had one tooth removed on the lower to create space. My orthodontist is aiming to expand the upper arch (it is crowded) to achieve a reasonable result without tooth removal here. Tray one has been fine but tray two (uppers) I simply cannot get in at all! Well not fully and I feel it is too traumatic to keep trying to push this on over my teeth and then pulling it off again when it wont go on and that I will damage the enamel. Obviously I am going to contact my orthodontist asap and am just keeping tray one in the uppers until then but I wondered if you had any thoughts about this please? I was getting on really well with tray one and tray two is now fine after a couple of days. Would appreciate your comments. My orthodontist is most defintiely affiliated to Invisalign. Thank you. Kind regards. ,

If I start braces treatment where I am located and then come over to the UK will a dentist be able to change my springs?

November 12th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Raha, First of all it is worth mentioning that I am not from or currently in the UK. The reason I am writing is because I have accepted an offer of studying this October at the University of Leicester. Next week I plan on getting the Damon 3MX braces. My Orthodontist told me that I will need to change the spring every 3 months and for this I will need to find an appropriate dentist in the UK (he will change the first 2 and provide me with all of the necessary springs and my personal file). My question is if you offer this kind of service. (changing Damon braces springs) Thank you. Best Regards,

I am worried that Invisalign has made my teeth very loose. Is this supposed to happen?

November 3rd, 2010
Q.
i\’m very worried that invisalign has caused my teeth to become very loose. After dinner today i felt my front teeth and you could move them back and forth. I\’m very concerned, is this supposed to happen?,

I am not happy with my dentist but am currently doing Invisalign treatment. Can I switch dentists?

October 13th, 2010
Q.
When i began treatment with my dentist all seemed well. But over time I have realised how horrible a man he is. I won\’t mention names but I am only half way through my treatment and am not sure I can bear to continue with this person for the rest of it. Would I be able to switch orthos? If it is too much hassle then I will likely grin and bear it or I may end up giving him a slap. Either one doesn\’t sound the best. Your advice would be welcome.,

I am stuck on tray 6 where my teeth are no longer moving. What is the reason for this?

October 11th, 2010
Q.
Hello Michael, I am currently in the middle of an invisalign treatment upper tray (18), lower tray (26), I am currently stuck on tray 6 have been for almost a month as my teeth seems to have stop moving. I suggested to my orthofontist a correction however he believes being an African Caribbean my bones are very strong hence the reason it is not moving. I welcome the opportunity for you to provide your opinion – are you available soon for a consultation?,

Would Invisalign be able to finish the job that fixed braces began several years ago?

October 7th, 2010
Q.
Hello Dr Vajda. When I was in my teens I had fixed braces to correct teeth that were misaligned. One of the teeth was practically turned sideways and it did not look pretty. At the time I was very happy with the end results but I still feel that the teeth could be improved a bit further. Can you tell me if Invisalign would be able to \’finish the job\’ so to speak? Maybe I am raising my expectations a bit but I just want perfection..is that so bad! Best wishes.,

I have only begun my Clearstep treatment but the tray feels far to tight. What should I do?

September 20th, 2010
Q.
I am on my first trays of Clearstep – I have very crowded uppers and slight crowding of lowers. My lower trays are fine, however the top trays are very tight and when taking out I have to use the outie tool – however it feels as though I could quite easily pull my front teeth out with it – they feel very tender and feel like they could snap in half when taking out or putting in the tray. Once in everything feels fine! I\’m only 48 hours in so I know this is probably normal but just need a bit of re-assurance! Thank you in advance!,
