Hello Dr Kumar. I have a question I would like clarification on. I used to have braces and didn’t wear my retainers long enough, which meant that I suffered from orthodontic relapse. I have since been quoted £4000 for Invisalign for some minor corrections on my teeth. Is this right? I was expecting less, especially as the Invisalign website quotes £1800 for minor treatment. This has left me a little confused and any advice you could offer me on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Dr Thorne, I really need your help and advice. I have lost my final Invisalign retainer, what can I do? I’m worried about what my orthodontist will think and say. Hello Dr Kumar, I was recently thinking about getting Invisalign braces. However I’m unsure if they are really suitable for me, I’m asking for your help to find out if they are suitable for me. I’ll explain, I had braces over 2 years ago and my teeth are still straight but a few of my front back teeth have gaps in them as well as this my front teeth look slanted. However my teeth do not have an overbite which is good. How much would it cost to fix my teeth using Invisalign and how long would the period be for me having them in for? Hi, I would like to switch from my current provider (a dentist) to an orthodontist. I’ve already had my consultation with the orthodontist and he has agreed to take on my case. However, I would like to know, can my dentist withhold any of my information or charge me any fees for releasing the information. I was told that dentist pay Invisalign a fee to obtain the supplies and if I’m interested in switching, I will have to pay the dentist her fees, is that correct? The reason for my desire to switch: my dentist did not explain to me how long my treatment was, when I ask her specific questions related to my treatment, she tells me to read on-line and find out all the information required. I was not interested in having my bottom teeth treated, upon her insistence and being informed that it would only be for 6 months, I later found out from her that it might be a year and a half, and again, she did not provide me with any clear timelines or reasons for the treatment.

I have been doing some research on different braces and I would really like Invisalign braces because they are so discreet. The problem area I have are that my front lower teeth are crooked and some are higher than the others. Would you recommend that I use Invisalign as I think the problem is quite minor? I have just graduated from University and will be moving to London in a few months. I would like to get the treatment done in the North-west if possible as I imagine the cost is more in London so would like to start treatment ASAP. Any advice would be very helpful, thank you.

Hi,
I am thinking about having Invisalign and visited 2 dentists who can provide it. However, their opinions were quite different. One told me that it would be like a 7 month treatment and that all aligners would arrive together, while the other one said it would be a 15 month treatment and that each aligner would arrive individually depending on the progress. Also the price thus was quite different: 3800 euro vs. 4800 euro. Who should I believe? Thanks!

My daughter was told a few years ago that in time she would need braces for both her upper and lower teeth. She is 14 and really doesn’t want braces for the usual teenage reasons for wanting to look nice, not to be picked on etc
She has been doing her own internet research and had found out about Invisalign and now will talk about nothing else.
I am aware that you cant get these on the NHS so it would be costly for me and I am worried that because you can take them out that she will take advantage of this when I am not around to see her. What is your opinion?

I am now at the end of my Invisalign treatment and am happy with the results/positioning of my teeth.
I’m now ready for retainers…. but I am informed that these will cost extra? I was strongly under the impression that retainers were included in the Invisalign treatment package?
Also, I am being informed that the Invisalign retainers can be quite expensive for what they are… and that another make of retainer might be a better option. Does this not go against the grain? This also concerns me.
I just want the very best available to do the job… Obviously I don’t want my teeth to suffer after going through the expense and effort.
I will, of course, discuss this with my orthodontist, but I feel that the advice I may receive will financially be in the interest of the practice… rather than for the good of my teeth.
Without you sitting on the fence, I’d really appreciate your expert opinion and advice on this. Thank you very much in advance.
